I loaned my boss one of my 1/4″ polyurethane air hoses since all of his were at a job. He normally uses rubber 3/8″.
He said It didn’t deliver enough air to run his bostitch coil framer.
Anyone have a similar experience or thoughts?

I hate that stuff.
as I understand it air hose size can be related to voltage drop and extension cords...
my SN4 won't run well on 1/4 hose but will on 3/8...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
How many were hooked up?
We have run them with no problem, with a 3/8 off the compressor linked to a splitter with 3 1/4 poly hoses. They were single lenght.
Just one, 1/4 from the compressor to the gun. He said it wouldn't quite cycle the gun properly as "coil nailers take more air". I said Ok I didn't know, as I don't have a coil framer.
His is an n80cb.Webby
I have a hard time believing as we would run up to 6 coil nailers at a time with the previous setup.
Ok thanks for the info, I don't use a coil nailer. They work fine for me, with brad and finish, and my stick nailer.
I thought if they worked well, for him, i might get him to convert and then I wouldn't have to drag around a hundred feet of rubber or pvc.
I have slowly got him to use an impact driver every now and then.
Seems like they should work ok? Maybe fed off a 3/8 for good measure.

We haven't had a problem.
I've run my Hitachi NR83A for the last few years with 1/4 as the last (usually 2nd) hose, after 3/8 x 50. Have a couple friends that frame exclusively with Bostitch ( never could convert them..:) and 1/4" x 100' lines, never seemed to have air delivery problems. I just can't stand the way they twirl around even after you loop em out so they're laying flat, 10 minutes later they seem to look like an old curly phone cord......
