Air Tight Covers For Over Speakers In Th
I am in the process of sealing and adding insulation to the ceilings I have access to in my house. Because of the roof structure only some is accessible. I can access the ceiling over my family room. Before I add insulation I was going to seal all the penetrations. Most can be sealed with foam. I have a couple of 8″ ceiling speakers and a glass break detector that I would like to seal and cover with something on the top side before adding insulation. Does some one make plastic covers that I could place over these fixtures and seal to the top side of the drywall before I add insulation. Thanks Jay

Tupperware?
Very goog idea. Thanks Jay
Plastic paint buckets from the local hardware or big box. They generally come in several sizes. Just trim to the desired height, make a slit for the wires, and bed in caulk.
Good idea. I also like the tupper ware one. Thanks Jay
You might be able to build a box out of rigid foam and expanding foam to encase them.
If I had extra blocking and drywall, I would use it.
If you want to impress people, get a 12" speaker, but only get a 4" grill. People will wonder how you got such deep bass from such "tiny" speakers. As example, the ports on most subwoofers are just 3''.
A big drywall box will sound better than the biggest Tupperware bowl you can find.
