Looking for HVAC system for client who is allergic to EVERYTHING. Any suggestions of systems that use hepa-filters or the like? Planning on using radiant heat in floors but looking for suggestions on cooling and air exchange. Thanks.

I have allergies to a multitude of items. Something bothers me all year round. We have Carrier gas forced air and use a Carrier electronic air cleaner. This is very helpful. One additional observation, I have am very sensitive to drafts of any type. They will start nasal drainage etc. My allergist cofirmed that this is a very common occurance for people with allergies. Our Carrier uses a variable speed blower motor. I find that the lower motor speed keeps down the drafts. Hope this helps.
Large plastic bags.
Seriously. IMHO I would think radiant, electric or hydronic would fit the bill. No ducts or coils to get dirty and grow mold. While this might not allow an easy place to put a central HEPA and/or a electronic air cleaner it also won't disperse or stir up pollutant either.
You can get HEPA filters for a variety of sizes although 24 x 24 and 24 x 12 are the most common and will cost from $140 to 300 per filter. The problem is the resistance. A clean HEPA has a resistance at rated flow of 1.0". Not practical a residential system. Look into the electrostatic option.
For a healthy environment indoors, without natural ventilation, 2 air changes per hour of fresh air is a good place to start. Use an ERV.
