this may be a little boring for most, but if you buy from them it might be good info.
I reecently ordered a makita 14.4 impact-driver with free drill body, when it arrived i opened it to find that they were loosely clanging around and scratching eachother up. I dont really care because im pretty good at scratching expensive stuff up in a hurry, but still it was kind of irritating.
Also the picture on the website and on the case it’s self shows a nicer chuck on the Mforce drill, mine came with that generic Jacobs chuck that you can buy at home depot. I have that same chuck on another drill and it’s a good chuck so no big deal, but i was still kind of irritated.
So i wrote them, not asking for anything and telling them that it wasnt big enough of a deal for me to want to return it but that they should work out those problems with their supplier (i was pretty polite about it too).
So they wrote back and are refunding 20% (50 bucks) to my card.
‘Left me pretty impressed

I've had good and bad shipments with them. The good ones arrived within a week. The bad one took a full month to get here (most items on the order were listed as "usually ships in 24 hrs").
I'm still doing business with them, but I'll hesitate if its something I need right away. They also have a $199 deal where you can get $25 off until the end of this month. I'll give them an 8 out of 10 score.
On the other hand, I WILL NOT do business with http://www.buy.com. They screwed up an order every which way. Multiple calls to customer service (all Hindus, many of which have a hard time with English), multiple emails. Several months later I finally just had to have Visa credit my account, because it was obvious that Buy couldn't get the head out of the arse. imho.

My Bosch 4000 came within a week (but it did take them about 3 more weeks to get me the manual - then I find out I could have downloaded off the internet!). I ordered a panel troll several weeks ago, and I'm still waiting. (the job I wanted it for specifically is almost done now). Overall I've been pretty happy with them.
I've bought a bunch of stuff, tools and otherwise from them.
Similiar instance, a tool belt I ordered showed up with one rivet poped, I called and told them what was wrong, gave me a choice, either 20% back or they would send me out a replacement with return packaging for the other one.
I've always had great customer serivce with them from ordering to customer service.
I do a ton of shopping with Amazon....very few complaints over the years....and on the rare occasions there`s been a problem, they`ve always attentioned it to my satisfaction.

It's been about a year or so since I've purchased something from Amazon but what I found worked the best was to call Tool Crib ( 800#, no tax and free shipping ) and talk directly w/ their bench personnel who are very knowledgable
Tool Crib was bought by Amazon maybe 5 yrs ago and is now the tool arm of Amazon - they know what is in stock and what you might need
I've found much the same; if you have any questions it's almost always better to talk to Tool Crib directly at their 800 number. On one occasion I had a question about a router- the picture online didn't match the description. E-mailed Amazon to find out which was which, went round and round and never did get a real answer. Called Tool Crib and found out right away. I've bought quite a few tools from them over the years (mostly recon stuff-they usually have a good selection) and have been very satisfied. Shipping has been timely. Don't know why it is but the boxes that come Fedex seem to be in better shape than the ones from UPS but luckily everything inside has arrived in good condition.
>> ... they`ve always >>>attentioned<<< it to my satisfaction.Dude! That is way ugly.
As is most of my grammar.
