I am wonder what kind of place that I should go to for Andersen replacement parts.
I have solved my immediate needs, but in the future (and I may need some screen door parts for this job).
I am working on getting a house read for sale, fixing leaky facuets, replacing burned out bulbs, sticky doors and the like.
The house has an Andersen slider with a broken handle.
I check on the Andersen web site for service and it did not list any national contract, but only local ones.
I found a series of lumber yards list, a couple of millwright shops, and an Andersen Logistic. I am guessing that the Andersen Logistic is zone office, regional center of some type, but it is a fur piece away on the other side of town.
One of the local lumber yards was just 2 miles away so I went there. Nice place, friendly and “helpful”, but it took 2 hours to get find out what the right parts where. They had a couple of Andersen windows in their showroom, but not Andersen doors.
The did have a full line catalog and I am guessing could have ordered anything that I wanted. But these doors where 25 years old and they did not know anything about them. So it was calling Andersen reps, waiting and waiting, then Andersen faxing some catalog sheets and waiting some more.
Anyway the parts should be here soon (I hope).
But in the future what kind of place would be the best for problems like this. The millwork shops or should I have gone to the Andersen Logistic offices?
And I saw this posted a couple of days ago “Anderson Window parts are available at 1-800-426-4261”
That number does not show on the Andersen web site, but I did a google on it shows on some Andersen pressure releases so it is an Andersen number (at first I though that it might have been a dealer someplace).

Well I had found the Help page, which had a number of links to Find a Dealer. And links to the parts catalog. But at the time it was not clear what product series that I had. There is no kind of product identifier guide that I could find.
I looked at the page many times

And never saw that microscope text at the bottom giving the phone number to the Solution Center. It was not until I did a google on that phrase that I found it.
Bill.... the type of dealer you want is higher up the food chain.. my dealer is called a "Circle of Excellence "Dealer.. which means they maintain a certain volume of business, they have a road service man, they assemble units, etc.
here is a toll free "Andersen Care Service" number..888 888 7020 which should connect you with someone who will be able to point you in the right directionMike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
Thanks
Anderson web site does not give much information, but they listed 3 millworks as dealers. And one of them had Andersen link with more infomration and it showed that they where an Excellance dealer.
Bill, for parts, I've called the 800 number listed in their catalogue. Those on the phone are helpful in narrowing down the yr of production and figuring the proper year part. CC the part and they ship pretty quickly. Only once have they ooops'd the size on a pair of screens. Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.
Quittin' Time
Bill-
If you order a part from a 'Circle of Excellence' dealer your part order will go through their normal shipping channels via truck......in my experience 4 to 6 week lead time. If you order it from Andersen directly it usually will be on your doorstep in a couple of weeks via FedEx.
