Hi,
I’m planning a remodel/addition and am considering Anderson Renewal windows made out of their “Fibrex” material. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Fibrex material and the windows themselves? They are pricey, are they worth it?
Thanks,
Jack

I have these in my own house and I am relatively happy with them after 5 years. The only reason I bought them was that at the time they were the only ones I could find with a sandstone exterior and a white plastic-clad interior that did not need to be painted but could be painted if you wanted to.
Around here you can only buy them installed, so your installation/satisfaction depends on the quality of the Andersen crew. The crew that installed mine was mediocre and I had to keep a close eye on them for the details.
Bottom line, no they are not worth the exorbitant price unless you need some special feature that only they have. They are good windows but nothing special in my opinion.

Thanks for your reply. They definitely are nice windows, and perhaps the best thing is the reputation of Anderson and their willingness to stand by their product. But, it appears that they are going to be at least double what other products, other than "Fleetwood" windows cost. So, I'm trying to get as much info as I can.

Andersen has a new replacement window available through standard distributors. It is less expensive then renewal and does have limitations.
