Another vapor barrier/insulation questio
I did a search to see if this was already covered as I suspect it has but gave up on post #53, sorry if this wastes your time but would really appreciate any help.
We have recently purchased a home in Northern MA and it has a third floor/attic that nothing was ever done with, just studs. Eventually I would like to finish it but with winter upon us I have decided to insulate it with Kraft faced rolls (yes this has already been done). Now the question I have been getting differing responses to is do I need to put up a vapor barrier over the kraft face (this will be eventually drywalled)?
Thanks for the response(s)

No. The craft facing is a vapor barrier. Any additional barrier would trap water.
You get out of life what you put into it......minus taxes.

Kraft paper is considered a vapor retarder, not a vapor barrier. If you want a true vapor barrier, slice the kraft facing with a knive and add a vapor barrier.
It may be too late to be much help, since you've already done the insulation, but since this is an attic, have you already insulated the underside of the roof? If so, did you allow for ventilation?
