I am going to start hanging dw in my shop. The shop construction is 2×6 stud walls with a trussed roof and steel siding and roof. I am concerned about the typical metal roof sweating that occurs when you have hot humid days and cooler nights. The roof is fully ventilated with soffit and ridge vents, so I think I have done everything I can to minnimize the problems that occur from temperature variations and poor air flow. My concern is that I may have enough moisture migrate through the dw ceiling to shift the balance toward under roof deck condensation. I am considering a 6 mil. poly vp to reduce the likelyhood of this happening. The ceiling is also getting an R-30 blown insulation.
What say you guys about this? Good, bad, or am I jousting with windmills?

Paint. Put a good coat on the walls and ceiling. The local Lowes sells mis-mixed paint for $1/gallon; surely you can find a color close enough for the shop.

I think that the six mill. would be fine. You could also seal around all your electrical boxes with tape. I you so desire. Paint will also act as a V.P.

All the above is true but still may be overkill unless you will have a sauna in the corner or a paint booth or greenhouse to generate so much moisture.
