I’m building a weekend log cabin (house) for my clients. They want a wide plank antique pine floor face nailed with some kind of rustic looking fastener (I’m thinking maybe copper, or wrought iron). They want the floor to look old and “RUSTIC”. I’ve never done one like this and I don’t really trust my slam-bang flooring sub with a project like this. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Just finished about 1500 sq ft of Eastern white pine wide plank flooring and have about another thousand sq ft to go upstairs.
I'm using rose heard nails which to me looks the nicest. One thing about the nails. The first batch I got were 2" nails and the second were 1 1/2". The 2" ones were twice as thick....much more substantial.
Some of the flooring planks came as wide as 19" down to about 5".
First batch of flooring came from Carlisle floors second and mostly came from Timberknee.
Carlisle had nicer planks as far as the amt of knots which were less knots but Timberknee's planks were fine and about 25% less money.
When we accidently dent the pine with a hammer mark we put warm water on the spot and it swells back up and on bad spots I use water and an iron.
Comes back almost perfectly.
I'll be getting two sandings and a screening so we're sure to set every nail head about shy of 3/16".
we're also glueing the planks with PL400 liberally.
I'm also using three coats of a matt poly. DONT USE TONGUE OIL!
