Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming

That would be interresting . The little sombatches are working in the crevice between the carport slab and the foundation wall.
we got alot of fire ants. ten twelve mounds per week. I bough all those chemical, baits for fire ant. they work but take weeks. a cup of gas in the mound and they are dead that second.
Dumb question- do you light the gas or is the liquid form enough?

I wonder what would happen if you used some kind of explosive on their mounds. Would it just cause them to expand to other areas, since they get blown there and just start all over again, or would they just die. We don't have fire ants here YET but they'll get her sooner or later and I don't look forward to dealing with them.
A friend moved next door from Texas and when they unpacked they found fire ants stuck to the tape they used to pack their household stuff into boxes with. The suckers were dead but their butts were firmly attached to the taped boxes.
One day as kids we thought it would be fun to stick firecrackers in a huge mound in our Georgia yard. Blew them all over us; got THOROUGHLY bitten up!

When I was a kid, we just poured boiling water on the mound until it wasn't anymore.
Then in 2-3 months, we'd do it again.
I like the plaan of having an ingestable killer that is taken back to the nest. Then the youngsters wake up hungry and find a meal waiting for them. They follow the previous generation into the great mound in the sky after the first meal.
