    I have found that one of the easiest methods to build a shoe rack for new home closets is for me to build them in my shop using cabinet grade plywood for the sides, top and bottom. I dadoe the shelves into the carcase sides, and then apply edgebanding to all exposed plywood edges. I just built a unit 20" wide by 16" deep, and 8' tall in about a hour and a half.
