Parts of building a new house can be fun. Other parts are definitely not fun. Some place in the middle are parts like making decisions about stuff like the direct vent gas stove we will be putting in the lower living area. There are so many makers. Jøtul and Kozy Heat were recommended as good choices by the distributor. Does anyone out there have any recommendations about a direct vent gas stove and a see-through gas fireplace?

In the past, we have had Vermont Castings direct vent stoves installed in two of our jobs. The clients seem to like them a great deal, and no problems functionally.
Our last job the customer had a Jotul direct vent stove installed. I have to say that it has the most realistic "fire" that I have seen. Really looks like a couple of logs burning. Overall the unit looks well made, and I definitely would recommend direct vent over another form of stove.
