Actually cleared up a bit myself. gtsam added another dimension. I actually "have" this product in my home - been a long time, so the recollection didn't come till the wife looked up our home improvements file of receipts, etc. For an eye opener, check my post at http://forums.taunton.com/tp-breaktime/messages?msg=107670.1
This tripolymer is made by C.P. Chemical Co. Unless they've improved it since I bought it in Nov. 1994, it is as I describe therein.
gtsam's link takes one to the site of a similar product called "tri-polymer" (note the spelling) called RetroFoam.
