I recently saw an ad for a new stud finder made by Stanley Works. Their claim was that this finder would work on plaster/wood lath walls as well as on drywall. I never had any luck with stud finders when working on plaster/wood lath walls. My finders were made by Zircon. Always worked great on regular drywall, but a “NO GO” on the other stuff.
Anyone try this new model by Stanley, or know of another model that will work on plaster/lath? My Zircon even had a “deep Scan” mode for metal studs and conduit, but wood lath always gave it false readings.
What’s your facts/opinions on this matter?
Thanks.
Davo.
