Any one use or have an opinion on the pneumatic concrete nailers that shoot something like a 13g T nail? Do they work well for holding furring strips to concrete or cement block walls?
I have a basement remodel job coming up which will include putting up furring strips on cement block wall, then drywall on that. Just thinking that a t-nailer would be a lot quiker than tapcons or remington stud gun (.22cal type thing). I worked on a job a few years ago where construction adhesived furrin strips to the wall, then held them in place with a concrete t-nail gun. But I have no idea how that system worked out.
Thanks for any info.

I've used them a couple of times to attach stucco wire to block. I've only ever shot them with 3/4" nails, which obviously won't do much for attaching furring strips. In my experience, they have about a 50% reliability - about half the nails actually grab something and hold. I suppose it's worth a try, but I wouldn't spend too much money to experiment. You can always get one of the powder actuated guns that has a strip of blanks and fires repeatedly without having to reload between shots. Personally, I usually just use tapcons. One medium duty hammer drill to drill through the strip and the block, one drill with countersink for the head of the tapcon, and one drill to drive. Goes pretty quick.
