Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters are highly problematic! They trip when nothing adverse is going on in a circuit. Sometimes they will even trip when not connected to any circuit!
Every local electrician I’ve talked to despise these AFCI. A common practice for electricians wiring in new load centers is to leave out the AFCIs until just before the final inspection so the circuits aren’t constantly tripping! Something is really wrong with the design of these AFCIs. Home owners are really frustrated. As a carpenter on the remodel jobsite I try to find an outlet that is not covered by an AFCI so I have continuous power.
