I see many blueprints of these beautiful colonial or other cut-up homes, and everyone wants one. Problem is all to often architech doesn’t have “in the field” experience. These steep roofs seem to all meet and deliver allprecipitation over doorways.
It seems too, that manufacturers and builders have to adapt and solve all too many problems that are not considered when designing. Ventilation of roofs as an example.

Are these prints intended to be construction documents or just renderings.
Believe me I have my own issues with the archys, but to give them a fair shake, there are all different categories of documents (and all different prices for getting the documents you want/need).

The first time I worked with an Architect was in 1972. I was a young carpenter but I knew the design was going to be trouble. The law suit is still in litigation. I have worked with dozens of them since. Finding a good Architect that has common sense and any knowledge of how things function is very rare. I built a high school three years ago, there were hundreds of things that were going to be trouble from the start. I made sure to limit my liability.
