Here’s the deal. I installed a floor in my bathroom. About 35 sq. ft. of Armstrong Excelon VCT tile. I want to put something on it to protect it and fill the
inevitable hair line spaces between some tiles. Armstrong has some kind of strangle hold on everybody. Everybody says use only Armstrong products on
Armstrong floors. It is like a robotic response. Do I need Armstrong shoes to walk on a Armstrong floor? The problem is this: 1.) the Armstrong juice that
they recommend costs $28 a gal. and only comes in a gal. size. ( I paid less than that for the whole floor and I could never use a whole gal. if I moped every
day with the stuff) 2.) I tried Mop & Glo and it did not work too well, kind of mottled and blotchy.
Now in my experience a lot of manufactures will say only use their batteries, oil , etc., etc. and they are just trying to sell their stuff at inflated prices. My
question is does anybody know of a product that will work for me that is not “Armstrong”. It can’t be that different. Thanks LVC

I don't know of anything, but on my mom's Armstrong floor, we tried all kinds of stuff. Nothing was satisfactory till we paid out for the A-stuff. Works like a charm. Since then, I use their stuff a lot - never dissatisfied yet.
*Go to your local janitorial supply house and seek some VCT finish from them. The best is usually always Johnson, as they do the primary research that other manufacturers ultimately employ in their products. The supply house may also have "industrial" quantities, but you may also be able to get others to share the cost for a pint or quart of the stuff. I've used Johnson Premia in my basement, and it provides an attractive and durable finish. Smallest size is also a gallon, but you can share.
*I'm feeling the urge to appear stupid, what is this Armstrong secret sauce, what's if supposed to do? Fill cracks between tiles? Wax the floor? Clean the floor? Joe H
