Just a few more details, please.
What is the roof area?
What is the roof pitch?
What is it's configuration?
What is the length of the vented ridge to be?
.....and the unvented ridge, too?
What are the overhang sizes? and .....
What is the soffit configuration?
Are there any other vents of any sort in the attic space?

Florida power and light say atticfans are of no use.
waste of money.
check their web site
Every reliable source, based on actual research and long term studies, I have read shares the same general opinion.
The DOE did a nice study comparing different vent strategies and their repercussions in terms of energy usage. A few points I remember:
Gable vents are not effective and only cool the immediate area.
Turbine vents are no better than a regular vent of the same diameter.
Power ventilation seldom justifies the power used and is little better than a well designed unpowered vent system.
A well designed, balanced and installed ridge and soffet system gave the best results in terms of both effect and cost effectiveness.
