Hi, I’m trying to increase the R-value in my attic without losing the storage space. Currently there is R-22 kraftfaced, can I lay extruded polystyrene over the joists instead of rolling out more fiberglass. The hard surface of the foam gives me a place for boxes instead of smushing the fiberglass. thanks

I bulit a platform with a couple of sheets of plywood raised up over the new layer of insulation I rolled out in the attic. I think the attic insulation batts will give you more r value than the foam boards.
