Here in the metro NY area, and even more specific, the Greenwich, CT area, what do you think an average salary should/would be for a lead carpenter in residential construction who is expected to go from tool belt, to purchasing, to liase with subs, and back to tool belt? And let’s say the project was very high end, and this lead carpenter had 35 years experience. (And position was only going to be guaranteed for 12 months). I’d love to hear what you have to say. Thanks

35 years experience means you're in your late 50s. They be busting you. The pimple-faced kid with 3 years is probably making more than you are.
Last time I had an offer like that, where I said I'd work for last years's rate and then got a lower offer, I said my new rate was NOW 20% HIGHER than last year (but without medical, BO will take care of that, eh?)
Got the new rate.
Ya gotta be prepared to WALK.
Three plus years ago I thought I'd work for this guy for 15 yrs. and call it quits. We have mutual respect for each other but this latest development is curve ball- and I could never hit the curveball. Ended my career. :-)
