I am thinking about using AZEK for prefab window surrounds. Does it screw together well?
I am planning on using some 5/4 stock to make some sill nosings and then screwing them to the bottom of the side casings.
Then pocket screws for the head to side casing connection.

I've never tried Azek to azek screwing, but if you learn to use the glue, you end up with a joint that is welded right together, so the screw would only be a temporary thing while gluing. You might need to predrill and countersink. Myself - I'd rather glue and clamp

I'm going to be using azek for the same thing this summer. I played around with the azek glue and glued a few scraps together. As piffin said, it is a weld joint after that, I tried to break the connection and you cannot break it free. The glue is the same as the plumbing glue but azek said theirs is uv protected, so it doesn't yellow in the sun. If your painting it anyway, I don't know why that would matter. The glue creates the same type of joint as plumbing pvc does, it is a chemical reaction so the two pieces fuse together as one. Its a better joint both for strength be also you will never see any joint line as you could with screws.
Also, the azek glue is a slow set, takes over night to set up. The plumbing glues are set in 10 seconds. I'll be testing that out when I get a chance.
