My residence on the north side of St. Croix, VI, was constructed in l969. It is surrounded with glass louvers between the top of the walls and the roof. Due to corrosion (salt), the anodized, aluminum rails, with the movable clips, need replacement. Only the hardware on the east side
(prevailing winds)is effected.I am looking for a source to replace this hardware.

Good afternoon Bob,
You wouldn't be able to post a picture of the clips and rail, by any chance?
Failing this, do you know the original manufacturer's name?
Is this the same type of assembly that we would be using on a commercial green house or atrium?
Sorry for the questions, but I'd ony be quessing, unless you can supply more information.

Dear Gabe, thank you for replying.
I have two sets. One 26 inch long, the other is 16 inches long. The clips are mounted on 4 inch center (allowing for 1/2 inch glass overlap). The side rails are "U" shaped and measure 1 x 5/8 inch. There is a small channel on the 1 inch side for a vinyl gasket. The clips are the regular type, movable and riveted to the rail. A separate bar is attached to the clips for opening/closing of the louvers with a small handle. I could forward a sample if preferred.
The original hardware was anodized. Bob

Hi Bob,
I'm definitely going to need more precise information on this. Can you E-mail me a sketch or picture of this hardware. I'm sorry that I'm missing the big picture here, but I will try to help you.
Nothing can't be replicated. I have access to several aluminum shops and several major extruded aluminum manufacturers.

*BobAre you asking about "Jalousie windows"?These were real common here in Florida Check out this website and othershttp://www.centralwindow.com/repairparts.htmScott
*Just another view and interesting comments. Problems with these old windows are so common around here that many big, old fasioned type hardware stores have hardware and parts. http://www.fpl.com/html/hes_html/rewjalo.htm
*Mr ClayI believe I might have seen your hardware today. Can you post a sketch, picture, something?Scott

Hello Gabe,
It seems if one person can help me it should be you.
Having not too long worked with a computer I have not mastered sending sketches by E-mail (no scanner).
Please give me your mailing address and I will forward a detailed sketch. This problem has been with me for so long I have patience!!
Thank you for your time and interest.
Bob

How about if I e-mailed you a fax number?

*Scott, Thanks for the hyperlink! I'm the caretaker at the family cottage on the beach in Connecticut. We've got a beat-up old jalousie window in the back door which I've been fretting about. It looks like my worries are over.... Let's see now what's next on the worry list? Thanks again, Jon

Hi Scott,
Yes, I will try to fax you after receiving your fax No. Thanks

Bob
Check your e-mail. I'll be around work for a day at least. Hard to say after that, I cover a large area on short notice, so don't be suprised if it takes a while for me to respond.

*BobI recieved your fax. Great drawing. You really should try to get this drawing scanned and posted. The clips look very much like what is available here. I'll pick up a couple and compare them. The rails might be an entirely different matter. I'll see what I can find. I see your window uses a lever. Good Idea! Most of the old ones down here (I guess "up here" to you) use a crank, which is usually stripped and broken. Are these pieces clear anodized or are they colored?I'll see what I can find for you.
