Looking for sink and/or ideas.
I have a special needs child with a rare disorder. His physical body stopped growing at the age of 9 months, so even though he is 4 years old he is still quite small. Bath time is difficult trying to use bathing seats in a regular tub. I am in the process of building a new house and was told that there exists what is called a baby bathing sink. The sink is basically an oversized sink, with a contoured bottom, which keeps the childs head out of the water.
Neither my builder or local plumbing suppliers have been able to find one. I had no luck searching the web. I was wondering if any of you had done a job where you had installed one and could give me the maker of the sink or where I could get one.
I am a woodworker and am use to making things. So I have even considered trying to build such a sink. Any suggestions on how this might be done would be greatly appreciated. Not concerned with looks, but just that it will work.
Thanks for taking the time to consider my problem.

We had one in the house I grew up in...great for hairwashing, too.

It looks like two great links have been found. If, neither is quite what you are lookiing for, I'm sure someone near you who works Corian, etc. could fabricate something for you.
Good luck.
jason.. if you don't find one you could make a male mold and lay one up in fiberglass.. then either paint it with Awl-grip... or
you could lay it up with gelcote and then the fiberglass..

If you are a wood worker you could build a custom unit from Corian. It is easy to work and can be bent to make the bottom the desired shape. Check out the Website http://stonewood.safeshopper.com then call me at 1-800-724-4008 and I can tell you how to do it. I have built a few sinks.
I hope this helps

Thanks for info on Corian. I think the wife found a product from Kohler that she will be happy with, but if it doesn't work out, I will contact you about the Corian route. First time I used the FHB site, and I can't thank everyone enough for all the great info and suggestions I got.
THANKS,
Jason
