Can you install backer board[durock] over vinyl flooring that has rubber[?]on it? 1/2 of the floor was carpeted the other 1/2 had vinyl with a rubber underlayer under plywood sheeting. I was going to use TEC 345 thinset to install the backer board, then use the same thinset to install ceramic tile.Will the rubber/old glue prevent the thinset from adhering to the floor?
