Re: Bad Odors
I installed a house trap before exiting the building and it immediately alleviated the offensive odors. I thought that this might be the solution to the problem and fortunately it was. Thanks for your input about the system possibly needing a kick start to get cooking. I think this pot is cooking just fine and every time it was stirred it gave up its aroma for all to enjoy!
The vent system is no longer bothered by heavy air or the topography of the site.

I remember that discussion and that's a good solution to keep in mind. Mine doesn't have that.

Thanks fer lettin' us know. We don't get a lot of feedback after advice is given out.
I don't remember the thread, though. Can anybody point it out?
If a lawyer and an IRS agent were drowning, and you could only save one, would you go to lunch or read the paper?
I'm pretty sure this is the one.

what is a house trap?
what it sounds like?
seems it would clog up?
Your right on track Wain. It's just an oversize trap installed in the 4" PVC main line. The PVC is so smooth and being done in such large pipe it usually is trouble free. For peace of mind we installed a T with a cleanout on each side. The house trap use to be required in many municipalities here in Vermont.
