bamboo flooring over cheap sheet vinyl
Over the Christmas holidays, I plan on installing about 250 sq ft of bamboo flooring. 5/8″ thick vertical solid. I plan on using a Bostitch flooring stapler and some glue on the edges where I can’t get the stapler. Underneath the vinyl is 3/4″ OSB and then the floor joists on 16″ centers. Any big mistakes I’m making here?
Should I face nail the edges that will be eventually be covered with baseboard?
thanks in advance!

You should face nail as much as possible rather than glue. It's amazing how well the correct color wood putty can conceal the small holes.
If the vinyl is cheap, maybe it will come up easily. I think you should try to remove it.

face nailing the bamboo flooring seems like a great excuse to buy an air nailer. I think the one that I have is for the 18 gauge nails which I suspect aren't the right answer for this task. What gauge nail would you recommend for this?
15 ga.
Definately 15 ga x 2"
