We just had bamboo flooring installed in our new townhouse and although not as bullet-proof as I'd hoped, we're very happy with it.
Flooring is one of the most visually striking aspects of a home.
If you can get a quality product at a good cost through a liquidator, bravo. If the liquidator is simpply selling "Bamboo", then beware.
The best bamboo that I've found is sold by TimberGrass. You can buy direct from them and pay shipping from Cinci or Seattle or try to find a local retailer. Even with paying shipping, I get the flooring for less direct through them, and by having it delivered direct to the house it saves a loading/unloading cycle.
The flooring is aways dead straight, the packaging is excellent, the finish flawless and near-bulletproof. At $3.25-4.10 a foot it's a good deal.
