I may be at the wrong site for this question, but here goes: Does anyone know of a ‘how – to’ for building a stone or brick barbeque grill? I want to make it a gas grill.

Three things come to mind. Rocks, glue and your old gas grill.
Seriously, I don't have any first hand knowledge but.... Are you talking about the type that looks like an oven or an open pit type? Either way it is mostly a masonry task with the addition of a gas supply and a burner. It would not be very hard and I am sure you could buy the necessary harware at your local gas house or grill supplier if you have one.

*Considering that current gas grills will outperform any home made grill, I'd consider building one into the masonry, if a permanent grill is your desire. Maybe a Weber Summit, as Weber has the best performing gas grill I've encountered. Go to .
*Check at a good masonry supply. There are good gas modules designed to be built in. Rest assured they are not cheap.

*Linda Mc;You might be interested in R.H. Peterson Firemagic grills. This co.has been around for a long time. Their grills are well thought out with good burners and grease system etc. They make drop in units as well as burners that can be used by themselves. I imagine they have a website but I don't know what it is.10-4

WHY A GAS GRILL INSTEAD OF CHARCOAL?
*
Wayne,
More efficient source of BTUs, quicker to start and stop, fewer pollutants, easier to control, ultimately safer, cleaner -- enough reasons to start with. Used to be I'd come home from work and maybe hope to get the charcoal barby into cooking mode sometime before total darkness. Now, with the gas barby, I'm ready to cook before the tonic's chilled, which translates into more overall cooking opportunites.
*I just point the hot end of one of those bullet heaters thru a hole in the bottom of a 55 gallon barrel, presto! cooks a possum in minutes.
*RJT,I got rats under my deck, how long for a mess a rats?
*J.D.: for small critters you can thread them onto some rebar and hang one end on the edge of the barrel and the other end goes in your cordless for a quick, handy rotisserie.
*
Be shure to bash an indent on opposite sides of the 55 , nutin wers than a BBQed rat that fell in the dirt!
