What is the best way to attach a base plate to a concrete slab? I am building a few interior partition walls in an existing finished basement and I am looking for an easy and effective way to attach the base plates.

We use 2 1/4" concrete cut nails through, obviously treated base plate. You will have no problems what so ever. Some guys shoot hilti guns.
*I drill a 1/4 " hole thru the bottom plate and into the concrete , then drive two 16d galvy nails into the hole. I hate beating on those concrete nails.Dave
*Tapcon screws work great also.Ed.
*3/8" x 3 3/4" Stud anchorsYou can install them after the walls are up by drilling a 3/8" hole with a hammer drill through the plate and into the concrete floor. Whack the anchor into the hole until it hits the nut/washer and then tighten with a socket or adjustable. Peachy.
*I am a tapcon fan.
*but be sure you don't have radiant pex tubing in slab
*Rawl and others make a 1/4" pin, with a deformed shank that is ideal for this application. It has a large head on the pin, and has incredible holding power. 100 ct box is around $40
*nathan,I've used those. Hold great. Impossible to remove. Good product.Ed.
*Hilti....boom...done. No drilling, no cords, no problem.
*Those pins can also "toe-nail". Set at an angle like a toe-nail, they can really push a stubborn plate to a line...nathan
*I think those pins are called spring nails. also, piffin is right about watching for underslab tubes and pipes. I saw a job where they shot into the perimeter drains for the slab in an old basement. the concrete was only 2 " or so thick . it cracked the old terra cotta peices.and the concrete in some places.
