Customer wants new 3-1/4″ MDF baseboard trim installed. Currently has 1-9/16″ casing; looks terrible.
All outside corners are rounded bullnose sheetrock down to the floor. Current trim used a small pc. at the corner 22.5 degree cuts. To me, my opinion, looks terrible.
What are some options in installing the new trim?
Are rounded outside corners available? If so, where?
Thanx.

i had an old house with the same corners. i made normal 90 degree corners on the baseboard and filled behind with a spacer. i made the spacer by drilling a 1" hole (my radius) in a square piece of trim. then i cut the square with the hole into 4 pieces (quadrants) and used them as spacers to cover the void. i glued them behind. with mdf, you could probably get away with nailing provided you drill a pilot hole.
hope it helps
You might check and see if this particular MDF base has a radiused piece available for it.

A piece of the base cut at opposing 22.5 degree angles, 13/16 ths across the back will fit nicely. Whatch your fingers!
