hello, have posted lots of questions on here during my basment project. Have another, need to install baseboard heat in my basement and trying to decide between baseboard heat or the fan heaters. Have four different zone and was on the cadet website which gave me a formual for calculating the watts requried (sf of zone or room *6 = total watts). First is this formula reasonable for a basement? I have studded out the wall with 2x4s and plan to insulate the exterior walls and drywall ceiling and walls, ceiling is insulated with r19 and is about 7′-6″ high. By the way I am located in central pa and have been working down there this winter, not sure what the actual temp has been down there but some days but its pretty cold, the upstairs is comfortable with the temp at 68 degrees (heat pump)
based on the cadet formual
First zone (tv room) will require 1500 watts (using formual = 1350 watts)
Second Zone – Kitchenette- will require 450 watts (using formual = 379 watts)
third zone – bathroom will require 300 (using formula = 271 watts)
fourth zone – laundry/utility will require 1350 watts (some walls will be unfinished and uninsulated and using the formual this would equal 1257 watts)
What would youns use (baseboard or fan type) and what brand to do you recommend
