Had basement finsished off. Celing is 7’4″. Main room is 12.5’x 35′. Do to clearance issues I used 10 3″ cans that use Mr-16 bulbs in them. The light is very yellow and not as bright as I would have liked.
can I change the light bulbs for ones that are a cooler white color? or do I need to add more fixtures? Any ideas? I like the look of the smaller can lights
thanks

You can buy different color temps: http://www.buylighting.com/MR16-Full-Spectrum-12-Volt-Halogen-Light-Bulbs-s/279.htm
These bulbs are supposed to be better. I never used any though. Made by Sylvania.

Was the bulb a "tru-aim"
Was the bulb a "tru-aim" sylvania bulb? Sylvania claims them to be much better.
No just the regular mr-16. I doubt thoes are out yet at HD.
Is there anywhere on the web that I can do a lighting layout to see how many fixtures I need for a given area?
My lighting supplier will do it............
so go to a local one in your neighborhood............
or if in the sticks, hunt up the better known fixture brands and peruse there site.
or
Ask this guy..............[email protected] He showed up here and offered advice-he just so happens to sell for an online supplier, but he might be forthcoming with general advice.
Best of luck.
