Basement; Subfloor & Walls (what order?)

I am researching my basement project and have been reviewing many articles for the subfloor and installation of perimeter walls and internal walls.
My question is this; does the subfloor get installed first and then the walls go on top of the flooring, or do I perform all the wall framing first and then install flooring around the walls. If anyone at Fine Homebuilding is reading this a detailed drawing of building components would be helpful for both the flooring and walls combined. Most pictures/diagrams are seperated.
Thanks, Dennis

Maybe you could clarify exactly what type of project this will be- since it's your basement you're talking about, I'm not sure if this will be a normal joist/subfloor/wall situation, or something concrete-ey.
I'd recommend a book like "architectural graphic standards" or "building construction illustrated" or a JLC building guide, any of them will have detailed drawings on standard building practices. Very useful books.

The basement is half below grade with concrete floor and foundation walls, approx 3' in height.
Why are you looking to subfloor? Moisture? Better feel under foot? Make the room less tall? Hardwood floor? Insulate room from cold floor Your reason for the subfloor may help the discussion. In a most finished basements around here we just put carpet or ceramic tile on the concrete. There is a product out there, I've seen at Home Depot, that is a subfloor 2' x 2' square with a dimpled rubber bottom to allow ventilation under the floor. Maybe that would help you meet your goal.Handy Dave
