I have just least a new shop that I need to put a bathroom in . It has the rough plumbing comming up through the concrete slab . I put a bathroom in my last shop , so I am up to the job . My problem is that there are more copper pipes than I am accustomed to . There is one 3/4″ with blue plastic wraped around it going into the slab . There are two 1/2″ pipes also with blue plastic . Then there are two more 1/2″ copper pipes with red plastic going into the slab . I am assuming that this is a color code , but not being a professional plumber I don’t know what these colors mean . Thanks in advance for any help .

The 3/4 blue line should be your supply line. The blue and red 1/2 lines are cold and hot supply lines (respectively) to fixtures. You need to find the shut off valve for the supply line and/or the meter to verify that you are connectyed to a source. It looks like your shop was roughed in for a water heater. What DWV lines are in? Toilet? Sink? Shower? From the DWV stubs you should be able to figure out what fixtures were in the mind of the plumber and where they would be located. You talk about the 1/2 lines running into the slab but not comming out. Need to find out where they go. It is hard to follow someone else on a project like this. Perhaps your landlord knows something about the layout or can put you in contact with the plumber who did the job. One phone call to the right person can save you a lot of agrivation.
*Blue is cold and red is hot , I'd guess the blue 3/4" is the incoming supply intended to be tee'd off to a hot water heater and the other two blue 1/2" pipes . And the two 1/2" reds and two 1/2" blues are outgoing to feed something else in the building . Do they come up anywhere else ? If so you may be able to uncap them and blow some air thru to trace them . Good luck , Chuck
