That was Basswood's tip? I didn't notice the name, but thought it was an excellent tip. Made me want to go out and find some firehose.
Mike
I think so.
Basswood mentioned it here a couple a while back.
Basswood lives in SE MN. So that's why I think it is his.

Hi Mike,Looks like we are both in this issue. I think I had a stair rail tip in the last issue you had an article in too (I tend to write articles that are only 1 paragraph long). ;o)All the best,BC
I don't think I was in the one with your bracket article though ;-)
so what was the tip

Thanks
Pretty good idea. I am glad that 90% of our sites are sand which has its own issues but none worse than wet clay.
Thanks Rich,
That's me. It sure has been rainy/muddy here lately and I need to make a few more sections of walkway.
Cheers,
Brian
Do you hook them up to a hydrant to speed up the process?
You just blow into the hose and it unrolls like a party favor at a New Years' party. ;o)
Huh. Using old firehoses. . . Never would have thought of that.
Hey Biff,I used to be a wildland firefighter in the Forest Service, so I knew the drill of inspecting and culling out worn hose. I also knew we used to give the stuff away to folks that had uses for it (mostly bumper padding for boat docks, etc.).Cheers,Bass
I got a buddy that makes laminated archery bows, he uses the fire hose and compressed air to clamp the bent lams to the forms..pretty slick way of clamping compound curves.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

Cool idea that.
Man, you're givin' it away when you could be charging for it.
Does it roll out faster if you "bugle" into it?http://www.quittintime.com/ View Image
Hi Grant,I may sell a few to local builders. The bugle boy thing haunts me still... lol.Later,Brian
Hey B,
I was just in your neck of the woods yesterday, delivering a trailer. yes it is very muddy there.
Congrats...

Thanks,I will be playing in the mud here tomorrow, working on a retaining wall, at my place.Drop me a line, next time you pass through.Brian
I didn't know I was coming your way until I got paperwork from boss late night before. Didn't really look at it until I got to our lot in New Richland. Got up at 2:00 am so I could beat traffic through metro by 5:30..... otherwise would still be stuck in southern MN. Boss keeps me on a tight leash for time. He gets concerned when I run too much. Pushing 2000 + miles for the week.
However it would be neat to come and see some of your work. Posted your name for people I would work for/with from general discussion forum 2 days ago.

No worries,You be the road warrior. ;o)On that "Who would you like to work with?" thread, it is an honor to be mentioned along with such class acts. I did notice that none of the people who said they would like to work with me have actually met me. ;o)Have a great day,BassP.S. I'll post some pics this evening of another jig in action.
