Looking for a couple of timer switches for our new bath fan + heater we’re putting in.
We want to avoid the Motel-ish dial kitchen-timer things.
The only alternative I’ve found thus far is this one:

Seems nice, but thought I’d see if anyone knew of any alternatives I should consider.

Got a bathroom ceiling fan when we did our reno which had a squirrel cage type of fan. It was so quiet that I had to hold up a Kleenex to see if the fan was working. Price was a little over $100 CDN but was worth it. Cant give you the name or model but you will never regret the higher quality.

Mac:I'm actually looking for the switches. We already picked out a fan. And, actually, it's not quiet at all...which is what we wanted. One of the few times where I purposedly had to pick the cheaper option. ;o)IMHO, a fan should do double duty...pull out unwanted moisture and air and mask the inevitable sounds one makes using the bathroom ;o)
Here is one. The timer is part of the light switch. It comes on with the lights and then runs a programed amount of time afterwards.

Or make it automatic with humdistat such as this one.

What about installing a humidistat? That way the fan would only come on when needed.
A humidstat can't account for smells and bowel sounds. ;o)Also, we'll have two of these...one for the fan, one for the heater.I've been doing a bit more digging and it seems the levitron stuff is pretty much the standard for electronic controls, so I suppose we'll end up going with that one. Just wanted to see if there were any alternative electronic timed switches out there. The one thing I didn't like is that I either had to go with a 2-5-10-15 switch or jump to a 5-10-20-30 switch. I'm torn on which would be better (and, likely, dwelling on a very minute detail ;)
As Bill suggested, try EFI.ORG. I have and have installed the Leviton 5-10-15-30 push-button timers and have been very satisfied with them. While there, check out the Panasonic fans. They're great.
