DIY’er in the midst of a full bathroom reno – walls down to studs. Would like to add insulation mainly for sound proofing, but concerned with moisture. Any suggestions? All four walls are interior walls with bedrooms and hallways surrounding it, attic above is unfinshed and insulated. Is it OK to go with faced fiberglass batting behind the durarock in tub/shower area? Durarock will have waterproof membrane as well as Installing fan tech fan on timer. Any feedback/suggestions appreciated!

If you are using this for a sound deterrent, I'd not use faced insulation. Sound would not be absorbed, maybe even enhanced a bit because of the foil or kraft diaphragm.
Unless you are including an uncovered, well used hot tub in this room, the small amount of moisture generated will probably remain in the room rather than attempt to migrate though.

Bathroom insulation
Don,
If you plan to insulate for soundproofing, use Roxul soundproofing batt insulation (Green colored.). It's better that the regular pink stuff as it is more compressed. First, place the insulation in the cavities, but don't push it right against the wall covering on the other side.
Leave a good inch or so of space, as this further enhances soundproofing. Once this is done, you could ad a layer of sheet foam insulation (1" thick) over the studs in the bathroom for extra protection and moisture control (apply red moisture-barrier tape over all panel joints.) Then, fasten your Durock over this foam with stainless steel screws, screwing through into the studs.
Make sure to take extra care if you are installing a shower pan membrane that goes up the enclosure walls.
Hope this helps,
Eric
