Does anyone know where I can get a new faucet that is wall mounted for a claw foot tub. I have seen some new ones at places like Home Depot, but they made to be top mounted. We are remodeling our old house that was built in 1957 and I came up with the idea of using the Claw foot tub in our master bath, now she likes the idea, but I can not find a nice faucet for it without spending hundreds of dollars, which I do not want to do. Does anyone have any ideas that could help. I think I have watch a little to much HGTV. Thanks.

When dealing with restoration aient nothing free or cheap except the frustration

Wade, You can plumb any "tub faucet" that will accept a "Roman" or extended spout since the standard would be too short. Pressure balanced as a set unit, or individual pieces / parts. As piffin and others suggest, under 200 bucks and you'll get what you pay for. You'll need to go up just a bit to get something that works and looks good too. Beware the flashy #### that'll fail for the cheap price and purchase a solid co. (not price pfister or other off the wall brand). You can also get a diverter to utilize a shower feature.

So what brand would you suggest. There was one company that I found on the internet that had a set that was supposed to be for a claw foot tube and it was about 460$.
Wade
moen, delta, grohe or Kohler, maybe Chicago Faucet.
You mention for a claw foot (about 460). Generally these "for claw foot" mount to the tub, shower pipe comes off the top, a diverter in the line and the shower head fastens to the shower curtain assembly.
In your post, you say you want it in the wall. The tub extended spout would replace the too short one that comes in the box. If you need a shower, you need to get the proper valve with diverter and/or separate diverter to send the water up. Then you'd need another longer shower head spout, don't know anything about that.
Screw the internet, get to a real plumbing supply and/or find a good plumber that thinks just slightly outta the box.
Best of luck on your project.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

When I said out of the wall, I meant the wall of the tub. It has 2 holes about 3.5 inches apart. So I was wanting to get a facuet that would fit the old tub. I thing it is about 75 years old or something like that. We just thought it would be a good focal point in our master bath instead of some big tub that we would never use or have enough hot water to fill.
Wade
Sorry wade, thought you meant the Wall. Now you're limited with either finding a used valve at a salvage yard, redoing the washers and maybe cleaning up the seat and having one you can shove the hand held shower rubber thing on (if still sold) or buying from Renovators or if you check, maybe delta etc still has something that'll fit the old tub. Best of luck again on your project.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

If you want the style that has a telephone shower feature, expect to pay $$$. Otherwise, as someone else suggested, get a standard showerbody, install it upside down (if no shower) and use an extendedspout for the tub.
If you want a shower feature, you'll need to invest in a unit that includes a diverter. I don't think they make an extended tub spout which includes a pull-up diverter.

I got one made by California Faucets through my bath dealer. But my bath tub is skirted in tile. I'm not quite sure I see how one works with a claw foot tub.
If you do end up getting anything with exposed pipes, be sure to get the whole assembly from one place so that the parts fit together. Don't forget the vacuum breaker if you get a hand held shower.
I've lost all my book marks, but Van Dyke's is good and somehow 'Sign of the Crab' sticks in my mind. If you google terms like 'antique bathroom fixtures' and 'bathroom restoration' it should come up.
