Check their sone ratings, I like Panasonic.
... much thanks, bought 2 Panasonic fans today

Panasonic is the pick of the litter. Quiet, strong, well built, but not cheap. But worth every cent.

And once you get the Panasonic, turn it on and check to make sure you ain't downdrafting the water heater or furnace.
Panasonic is the best.
Damianm,
I installed a Panasonic about a year ago. It's the quiet, powerful one rated at 90cfm.
I'm not impressed, it is quiet but doesn't move the moisture very well. After a 10 minute shower water drips off the cover and even my little 5' x 7' bathroom is very wet.
The duct work makes ( 1 ) 90* bend and vents straight out the roof with about 5' of duct.
I have had very good results with "FANTECH". Much nicer product, about the same money, moves a lot more air.

I'd suggest a "remote" fan - One that has an inlet in the ceiling, but you mount the fan a few feet away on the pipe. With those, you have to listen real careful to make sure the thing is running.
A: About three pounds, including the urn.
I just installed 3 Panasonic units. 2 150 CFM and a 100 in my away home.
Ya they are quite but I still hear it easily. I'll take a remote model anyday. If the install was not so intensive I'd take them out.
I bought a remote unit from Grainger and mounted it on the flat roof above my bathroom at the FT house. If it was not wired to the shower light fixture it would never get shut off. It was also less money than the 100 Panasonic.
I'm about to order a remote exhaust fan from fantech.
it attaches to a collar tie or rafter and is ducted to the register.
they make them which will pull multiple baths.
I bet there are other suppliers for such a product?
It makes since to me,but I have not had any in put from a knowledgeable
source. Maybe some of the guys could enlighten us.
Try "HVACQuick.com" for Fantech stuff.
ask for Neil
Aldes is another brand of remote fan. I had one installed to vent two baths. I'd say it works decently, but not great. But it is a different mounting style than the Fantech one, so if you find that Fantech won't fit your installation for some reason, maybe the Aldes will.http://www.americanaldes.com/I also installed the delay switch from EFI, which allows the fan to run from 0 to 60 minutes after you turn it off, which is helpful. Two things about this switch though, it only comes in white, and there is no delay in turning it on, so if you hit it accidentally, it will be on for the entire delay time period. I wish they had about a 5 second delay to come on to avoid that.Anyway, I'd recommend putting the EFI switch in its own box, rather than ganged with the light switch for these two reasons.
Thanks for the url
knowing suppliers is a great help when trying to help clients receive the best service.Mic
I have the American Aldes brand fans. Around 100 cfm, remote mounted and very quiet.
FHB advertisers also.
Check the sone ratings. And keep in mind that a big part of the sound management has to do with how deep the housing is -- the deeper the better.
Panasonic! The only complaint i've ever had was from a guy who forgets to turn it off - because its so quiet. Remotes are great also if you've got access above.
A simple timer works well, or you can buy a humidistat to control it.
