I am looking at installing a bay window that sits under a porch.
No need to build a roof across the top of it.
I am looking for some suggestions on finishing off the top and adding some support to it as well.
The existing opening has a picture window in it now which is actually taller than the new bay window if that helps out at all.
The porch is a 3 season which the owner is planning on converting into a traditional porch this summer. Either way the roof of the porch will continue to cover the window.

Anderson for instance has a cable system that "hangs" the bay from the soffit (or in your case-the porch ceiling framing). There's your support. As far as finishing-it'd take a little more info to be able to see what this could look like. How big, how close to the ceiling of the porch.
Personally, seems it would encroach on the porch space, but if that's what they want.
Might look better to take the outter edges of the bay to the floor.
