I have looked high and low and finally found a place that rents beam jacks as described in Fine Home building issue #137 article “Framing an Opening in a Bearing Wall”. I have several jobs lined up to do just that. I would like to purchase at least two sets, the ones that they rent are not exactly like the picture but do the same thing. The rental place will sell me a used set for about $175.00 each and I still have to buy the 2″ pipe. This sounds high for such a simple tool. Does anyone have a better source for purchasing such a thing. Thanks for your help.
