Listeners write in about haunted pipes and building-science tomes, and they ask questions about roof venting and roof leaks.

Find some oak "bendable plywood" and you'll not have to work or worry. Specify which way you want the grain to run.
A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

Have you ever seen the bendable plywood? It's like the Lochness monster. I haven't seen any, nobody I know has either, but I keep hearing it's really out there. Heck, I can't even find staples for my Bostich stapler around this burg. I don't see much chance of a special order happening for a desk worth of ply either.
man i have like 40 sheets in my warehose of "bendable plywood" got it from a truck salvage guy maybe 5-7 yrs ago... I know i'll need it someday...
p
You're the first one I heard of that got some. Still kinda mysterious, like how you got it froma a salvage guy. I get all kinds of weird stuff from salvage that you would never be able to get from a supplier. I think a lot of that stuff is only sold special order by full loads to factories and such, may even be made to spec just for a factory.
I was at an...hrmphhh...auction of a closed down cabinet shop once and got some.
But I've never seen it outright for sale anywhere.
If you need some it sounds like it might be time for a web search.

bending plywood is easy to find. In virginia I found it at Smoot lumber, in califorina I found it at a plywood specialty place in anaheim. Both times I bought one or two pieces. I just look in the yellow pages under plywood and start calling around.
I build square. I would lookup some if I wanted to build rounded, but I have never seen any. Got any bostitch 17s5 staples? (7/16 crown, 17 gauge)? Cant find those either. Can't use the 16 gauge I can find in my old T50s5 stapler.
Here, Toledo Plywood has it. You're in Dayton, should be a supplier there or in Cinci. You aren't out in the sticks.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

Yeah. Toledo plywood. I really miss that place.
Most every kind of sheet goods you need, in stock.
Do you get stuff for cab work from Woodworkers Hardware? Huge catalog, great website, and super pricing.
I don't have a call for much in cab hardware other than knobs and pulls and the occasional hinge and slide. I usually use Best Hardware, the local wholesaler. Nice family business there too.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

Don't forget Kencraft, all three of them right in a row. If you're building cabinets all you have to do is drive down Westwood.
Ever deal with Dave when at Best Hdwe?
One of my best friends since jr. high.
Not that I have any problem with Toledo Plywood - Did you know that Cleveland plywood has a location in Ampoint now - Closer?Remodeling Contractor just on the other side of the Glass City
If Dave is the younger guy in that little office off the warehouse/2 girl computer room, yes I have. I saw Cleve had a space there when working volunteer over at penta. Eventho the name, always thought they just trucked the Formica brand plam here. Nice to know that they are a full service ply supplier. As good a selection as TP?
The Kencraft guy should put a smile on.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

I haven't been in C.P. yet but a guy I network with has, says it's full service.Remodeling Contractor just on the other side of the Glass City
They might be able to parlay some tribe tickets, I'll have to check them out.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

Requarth lumber probably has it. I just never looked too hard for it.
I 'm sure Cleveland plywood has it. Worth a call, I know they deliver to Toledo area twice a week.
They deliver right to your door - or did up until last year.

If you want to make a 8-10 hour drive east, my lumber yard stocks it.
Hammersparks,
Most of the curved work I have seen built has a product called Kerf-core used to make the radiused panels. Here's a link if your interested.

Thank-you! I'll chase down a WI / MN supplier. Hammersparks
I built a curved receptionist desk of curvaboard 10 years ago. I glued 2 sheets of 3/8 together to hold the shape then veneered it with paper backed oak veneer. Last time I saw it had changed offices but was still standing.
