Now that I’ve started a business, I’d like to acquire a reputation of building high quality homes. My former employers never gave much consideration to the nails they used. The customer I’m building for right now is paying for materials to overbuild everything. I’m buying the nails, but I’m sure he’d appreciate it if I used something tough. <!—-><!—-> <!—->
What would you say would be the highest quality nails for nailing together walls? Not nails for sheathing – nails for the 2x’s.

Clips of gun nails. I'm guessing the longer the tougher to pull apart. What's the maximum length you would use?-T
if ya had an a Senco SN4 you could put a 20d magazine on it and drive 4" nails...
other wise 16d's at 3.5" but still tat will be too much nail in some applications..10 or 12's are what you will need also
use ring shanks every chance ya get...
ACQ? use stainless...
but what is thew brand of gun you are using? plastic, wire or paper collated. what is the degrees of the collation..
I use Senco or Paslode nails.. galvanized and not bright, easy to obtain and price competitive..Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

do some testing to satisfy yur own curiosity...
use different nails and then take it apart... for general framing use a 3.25" ring shank in a FRH galvanized..
code also dictates if you can use a clipped head or not...Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

JCT we use 3"x.131" FRH Hitatchi or Senco brand nails for 2x framing.
It's either 2 3/8"x.113" or 2 1/2"x.120" coil nails (preferably Bostitch brand) for plywood, normally ring shank.
When I had clip-head guns Paslode and Senco made good nails.
Some generics are comparable in quality to name brand; some aren't. Experience will tell you or your subs which is the best balance quality vs. cost.Jason Pharez Construction

3"x.131 full round head ring shank and anything going thru
the new pressure treated, make it stainless steel.
