Best Hardiboard Fastners: sheet & trim?
Several questions about Hardiboard….
Instead of using house wrap, I chose 30lb. roofing felt with 16″ overlaps on the walls. Is that what you would use?
I’ve tacked my sheets with Paslode galvanized ringshank nails. What would you use for the remainder of the edges and field?
Because it’s a 16’x32′ cabin/shed, so I’m ripping the 6″ trim for a narrower batten. How would you attach the 3/4″ material?
Since it’s two-story, I’m using galvanized Z metal at the seams. Would you put the 3/4″x 3″ Harditrim horizonally to cover these horizonal seams?
How do you prime and hide your fasteners and galvanized Z-flashing before you paint?
Rain/sleet/light snow has set in, so I’m at a stand-still. Here’s what I’ve done so far:
This is my first framing. Thank you for this help and on all the others I’ve recieved.

Overkill, but that's OK.
I'd try to use Stainless Steel nails, galvanized can rust, and sometimes quickly.
I would not want to rip harditrim, I'd use something else, but it can be done. Since it is so brittle, I'd predrill it and hand nail it up with SS nails.
If you can use 15 degree siding nails, I have some in SS, but I think Paslode is different.
