Best Rockler Drawer Slides for Short Keyboard Shelf?
I have a hallway alcove desk with granite top which I need to add a lower “ergo height” pullout keyboard/mouse shelf. Needs to be 38″ wide with a 6-8 inch deep shelf. Pullout should only be about the same 6-8 inches. Want the best, so am looking at “Blum Tandem Full Extension Drawer Slides with Blumotion. What length would you recommend? Is there a better one than the Blum?

I have one similar to this. http://www.rockler.com/magic-touch-keyboard-slide It goes in & out, up & down and swivels. I love it. I couldn't find a brand on mine. It looks like this one that is not available. http://www.rockler.com/standard-keyboard-slide
Have a Granite Desktop, Need Side Keyboard Slides
I have a granite desktop, no wood underside. I don't want to "glue" something to the underside of the granite, so need to build a 38"x8" keyboard shelf and use slides mounted on the sides where there is a wood frame suppoert.
I was looking for something like that several years back and didn't have any luck.
Wow!
Please, Dan, do tell us about other items you have looked for in the past... and haven't found. Personally, I find that kind of feedback incrediably insightful.
Here you go....
What length could one recommend? You have very limited range of lengthof 6-8 inches to choose from. Most side mount slide models start at 12" length. However, the KV8400 B08 model happens to be an 8" slide. It is a full extenstion with 100 # rating. available at woodworkershardware.com. Sounds like it could fit the bill.
