Best tool I have …
good friends!
have to set a built up beam sometime next week. Lotsa long steel and LVL’s.
made 2 phone calls … will be me and a Genie Lift …
my buddy Joe the professional beam setter will be there to help assemble and fight the parts and pieces into place …
and my power lifting mechanic will be there … with his lifting buddy … to help hold up the rest of the house as we set the new stuff … and since he’ll be driving his dump truck over … he’ll haul away all the stuff I had to demo to open her up.
2 phone calls … a 4 man crew … and a dump.
nice.
big strong friends make for great tools.

So you're just looking at 3 or 4 za's and 2 to 4 cases of beer? That is an outstanding deal!

coupla hundred bucks per guy ...
but still.
I'd rather pay what I bid for than have a load of steel and LVL sitting across my chest!

Good deal. Usually every development I'm in has the same excavators in it as well. Whenever I need a hand or they need a hand we always work it out. You can't beat having good friends.( And taking everyone to Hooters for lunch once and awhile goes a long ways).

I love Hooters.
We've been havin lunch there a couple times a week for the last two years. Is it bad when you walk in and EVERY girl knows your name? Real ego boost. Gotta eat. Might as well enjoy the view!Greg

Me too. Maybe sometime I'll check out one of their restuarants!

The Hooters calender girls are supposed to be at the local Hooters this Friday. I haven't seen the calender, but I'm willing to risk it.

John I've seen the calender, you better make plans to go there for lunch. They're probably not as friendly as the regulars though.Greg

I whole heartedly agree with ya
Mine wasn't steel.
But hey 3400lbs of soapstone counter top almost had to get new friends after I was done.
almost had to get new friends after I was done.
or make a bunch of new ones before U get started ... that way ... when it's all done ... U still have a handful left.
I'm lucky ... Joe loves a building challenge. Big Brian doesn't mind lifting anything ... plus ... I'm committed to dressing up the front of his garage before the snow flies ...
and his buddy is recently laid off and is just happy to have some work.

I can relate to moving soapstone. Moving it was one thing,,,whewwwww, that stuff is incredably dense. Fabricating it was another trip.
I think a few folks here might recognize the guy helping me : )
