Best way to polish edges of marble tiles
I am working on a bathroom project where I had to rip numerous 12″ x 12″ marble pieces into smaller sizes around the shower door area. Is there a way to get these cut edges polished somewhat with my grinder? The cuts are smooth (wet saw ), just not polished.
Thanks.

steve-o,
I've used 3-M micron sandpaper in a random orbit. Gotta work your way through the grits.

Thanks for the heads up. What grits are we talkin'?
What I did on my wet saw doing marble a buncha years back was to miter the edges starting about a 1/16" from the edge so it didn't chip.
I have an accessory that goes on the sled that allows for such miters.
In other incidences I sanded the edges and used car wax on em' buffed.

Marble is a soft stone and polishes nicely. I used a cheap pneumatic polisher from Harbor Freight ($30ish) so that I could wet sand. Challenge was to find the right grits in manageable quantities. I went from about 60 to 600 grit in half a dozen steps. Eastern Marble Supply (http://www.easternmarble.com) will sell you a kit that has about 50 discs in the assorted grits and a velco pad to fit the polisher.
Hey, great! I'll check out that link. Thank you.
