As some of you know, we recently relocated from Utah to Long Island, or as it feels now, from desert to swamp. In my office in the basement there was something black growing on the ceiling in a straight line. We thought it was probably mold, and that maybe there was a leaky or condensing pipe up there causing the straight line. We decided to take down the ceiling to address the problem.
It wasn’t mold.
No, it was a huge amount of mouse poop that was soaking through the ceiling. The straight line was because the blocking made for a nice place to rest while pooping on the drywall. The murine toilet wasn’t limited to the area around the blocking, there was a thick solid layer of the stuff throughout the ceiling, with the exception of one 2′ section that inexplicably escaped. Even with vacuuming there was a shower of the stuff with each piece of drywall we pulled down. Some of it was still glistening wet. Sometimes, I wish I had hired out a particular job.
Yuck.

That stinks!
So to speak.
I've torn open walls to have thousands of roaches fall out. Not sure which is worse.
