Hello all,
Have any of you tried out the Rigid nailers yet?
Specifically, I am looking at the 18 guage nailer to replace my old Senco.
I know there have been lots of nailer threads. Read ’em.
Slp20 seems to be a favorite, but I would like the longer capacity. I’ve used the newer Senco FinishPro 18. Junky, cheap feel to it.
Thanks,
-Kit

SLP20 is hard to beat IMO. Never had a problem and never any oil... cool. If I need longer I use SFN40.
No help on Ridgid, I'm afraid. You could be the guniea pig and let us know :-)

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
The Finish Pro 18 is the junky model they sell at HD and Lowes. I think the gun you want is the FP25XP which is oil-free and shoots a 2 1/8 inch brad. This gun also has a "turbo" setting which will sink the brads even when you have the gun angled so that the nose isn't flush to the stock. You'll love this the first time it saves you from setting nails in the tight quarters. The down side is the gun is longer and bulkier than the SLP20 and it's a real pain to adjust between regular and turbo without first loosening four screws.
